GDC Unveils the Exciting Contenders for the 27th Independent Games Festival!

This week, the Game Developers Conference (GDC) unveiled the contenders for the Independent Games Festival’s awards ceremony, which is part of the latter’s gathering. The IGF’s awards ceremony, where the champions of each category will be disclosed, will occur on March 26 in conjunction with the Game Developers Choice Awards. The prior recipient of the Seumas McNally Grand Prize in 2024 was Venba from Visai Games.

The titles with the highest number of nominations include Jenny Jiao Hsia’s Consume Me, a darkly comedic life simulation inspired by the author’s struggles with disordered eating; and Despelote, a slice-of-life game centered on soccer and social interactions in the streets of Quito, Ecuador.
