On January 11, Geraci shared his predictions via X social media. He stated that spot Bitcoin will continue its 2024 momentum. Geraci predicts the US-based BTC ETF market will surpass gold ETFs in total assets, unless Bitcoin drops significantly.
Currently, Bitcoin ETFs have $107.64 billion in total assets, while gold ETFs are around $271 billion. Geraci also predicts the SEC will approve options trading for spot Ether ETFs and staking for Ether ETFs by 2025.
Bitcoin ETFs Will Surpass Gold ETFs in Total Assets
On January 11, Geraci shared his prediction via social media X. He stated that Bitcoin spot will continue its momentum in 2024. Geraci predicts the US-based BTC ETF market will surpass gold ETFs in total assets, unless Bitcoin drops significantly.
Currently, Bitcoin ETFs have $107.64 billion in total assets, while gold ETFs are around $271 billion. Geraci also predicts the SEC will approve options trading for spot Ether ETFs and staking for Ether ETFs by 2025.
In addition, he mentioned that staking for Ether ETFs will most likely get approval from the SEC in 2025.

In-Kind Mechanism in Bitcoin and Ether ETFs
One of the main issues when proposing Bitcoin ETFs is the in-kind creation and redemption mechanism. Geraci estimates that investors can exchange Bitcoin (BTC) or Ether (ETH) to create or redeem their ETF shares by 2025.
In addition, the Bitwise Bitcoin Standard Corporations ETF, which holds shares of companies with “Bitcoin standards,” is expected to launch and reach more than $1 billion in total assets. He also predicts that at least 50 other crypto ETFs will be launched by 2025, including Solana and XRP spot ETFs.

Total Crypto Market Capitalization
According to data from CoinGecko, the total crypto market capitalization currently stands at around $3.46 trillion. This figure reflects a decline of more than 1% in the past day.
Bitcoin continues to lead the sector with a market capitalization of $1.87 trillion, while Ethereum is in second place with a capitalization of $495 billion.
