Hyundai Motor Group collaborates with NVIDIA to harness AI and digital twin technologies for improved vehicle safety, manufacturing effectiveness, and pioneering robotics.
Hyundai Motor Group is establishing a partnership with NVIDIA to enhance its transportation solutions through cutting-edge AI and digital twin technologies. This collaboration was revealed at the CES trade show in Las Vegas, underscoring Hyundai’s dedication to progress in intelligent mobility.
Cutting-Edge AI Endeavors
The alliance strives to incorporate NVIDIA’s accelerated computing, generative AI, digital twins, and physical AI technologies into Hyundai’s transportation portfolio. The automotive leader intends to integrate these technologies throughout its product lineup, which includes software-driven vehicles, robotics, and refined manufacturing processes.
Heung-Soo Kim, executive vice president and head of the global strategy office at Hyundai Motor Group, highlighted the revolutionary capacity of AI in fields such as robotics, autonomous navigation, and intelligent factory functionalities. This collaboration is predicted to expedite Hyundai’s advancements in AI-fueled mobility innovation.
Simulation and Digital Twins in Production
Hyundai will employ the NVIDIA Omniverse platform operating on NVIDIA OVX systems to establish a digital thread among its current software resources. This will enable precise product design and prototyping within a digital twin setting, enhancing engineering efficiencies and minimizing costs.
Moreover, Hyundai and NVIDIA will create simulated environments for autonomous navigation systems, guaranteeing safe evaluation of self-driving technology in various scenarios. These simulations will assist in confirming the reliability of self-driving applications, furthering the safe implementation of autonomous vehicles (AVs).
Digital twins will also be utilized to enhance Hyundai’s production lines, boosting production quality while cutting costs. The firm intends to develop and train industrial robots using NVIDIA Isaac Sim, improving the safety and efficiency of manufacturing operations.
Robotics and AI Integration
NVIDIA’s AI resources and libraries will back Hyundai in elevating robotics intelligence, enabling industrial robot training in simulated settings. This will optimize manufacturing methods and improve the interaction between robots and their physical environments.
The partnership between Hyundai and NVIDIA emphasizes a shared objective of developing safer, smarter vehicles and advancing manufacturing through state-of-the-art robotics. The collaboration was formalized at a signing ceremony during CES.
